Pharmidex establishes a US base
London, 1st December 2005. Pharmidex, which delivers blood-brain barrier
solutions to companies engaged in central nervous system (CNS) drug
discovery, have today established a base in the USA. ‘More CNS drug
discovery research takes place in the USA than any other country in the
World’, said Pharmidex CEO Dr Alan Palmer, ‘so the American market is of
great importance to us’. The new office is located in San Diego,
California and constitutes the first phase of Pharmidex’s expansion into
North America. ‘With the strength and focus of our core expertise and a
number of innovative offerings, we aim to collaborate with CNS drug
discovery companies worldwide to add real value to compounds in their
portfolio’ said Dr Mohammad Alavijeh, Pharmidex’s Chief Scientific
Officer.
Pharmidex CEO voted entrepreneur of the year
London, July 2005.Alan Palmer, co-founder of Pharmidex, has been awarded
the prestigious London Biotechnology Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005
at a meeting in the British Library. With 250 delegates, the meeting
brought together companies from Oxford, Cambridge and London.
"Receiving the London Biotechnology Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005
is not only an honour for me, but also a great honour form my colleague
and co-founder, Dr Mohammad Alavijeh along with the whole Pharmidex
team.," said Dr Palmer. “As the company moves forward, we will continue
to realize our business potential by actively listening to customers and
effectively responding to their needs. This, coupled with our unique
offering, has allowed us to establish an extensive international client
base, which we now aim to consolidate and expand through delivering a
value-adding services underpinned by continuous innovation."

Pharmidex win Service Company of the Year Award
London, June 2005. Pharmidex have just won the Award of Service Company
of the Year at a ceremony held at Madame Tussauds in London. ‘This is
the first biotech company to win this award’ said Chris Parsons from UK
Trade and Investment. The judges were very impressed by the quality and
intensity of their international sales effort along with rock-solid
endorsements from major industry figures worldwide’.
